Shelley's Jive Academy started on the 1st July 1996 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. So if you've always wanted to Rock 'n' Roll but don't know your ladies pass from your paso doble, or your right foot is non-existent due to the development of your two left feet (which seems to rule the majority of our family genes these days), then this is for you. We identified at a very early stage in the academy's development that there was a genuine need for basic tuition - by that we mean you cannot expect those of you with 'two left feet' or who have never ventured near a dance floor to suddenly grasp the idea of all dance terms; be immediately able to pick out the beat and in some cases know how to act on the dance floor. Whereas others may want to brush up on already complicated dance routines within the same class. Well look no further we have evolved a system which caters for you all.

We do workshops at Rock n Roll venues all over the UK so if a club near you has a particular event coming up - then get nagging at the organisers to give us a call or send us an email! Every year we are at Americana International at Newark, Nottinghamshire in July, and the American Show at Bath and West Showground in June. We can also arrange private tuition if required.

For you lucky people in the Derby area we have arranged to begin teaching on Monday evenings 8 until 11 at the Rolls Royce Pavilion, Moor Lane Starting 5th September 2005
